Hot Notes

The Team Draft Will Take Place On Sunday at the Natural Nationals in OKC. Lifters who post Total's at the Natural Nats will be able to use these coefficients for the draft. All lifters who want to be in the Team Draft MUST contact the Coaches and indicate you want to be on a team and you are available for the Team Draft. Please read the requirements below and make sure you are qualified to be on the Team NASA Teams.

Team Members DO NOT have to be entered in the USA Nationals in their respective Events 7 Divisions until the entry deadline date for the regular meet

Lifters will have until the Natural Nationals to get their best coefficients posted. Immediately after the Natural Nationals lifters will be allowed to apply for our NASA Official Red and Blue Teams. Lifters need to get their coefficients as high as possible between now and next February when the Team Draft will occur.

Official Team NASA Coaching Staff's Announced - Team Member Information Now Available

Red Coaching Staff-

Pat Frock, OH - Head Coach
Jeff Briner, OH- Assistant Coach
Job Hou-seye, WI- Assistant Coach
Wendy Hou-seye, WI- Team Manager

Blue Coaching Staff-

Rich Kahle, NM - Head Coach
Mike Willis, KY- Assistant Coach
Larry Marker, NM - Assistant Coach
Laura Anderson, MO- Team Manager

The Head Coach's MUST stay in contact with the NASA Office at all times and must be responsive to all NASA communications. It is highly advised that both Team Coaches have a distinct e-mail address for their coaching contact.

Lifters can start applying anytime and sign-up will end on Febuary, 1st, 2013.

This meet will pit lifters against one another coefficient vs coefficient regardless of their bodyweight and/or age. All lifters must meet the following requirements to lift on an official Team NASA team:

* All Team Applicants MUST have a current NASA Membership before they apply for any team position. Non-Current Lifters will be eliminated immediately.

* All Team Members must be entered in the Regular USA National Meet in the Divisions/Events they will be competing in during the Team NASA Competition.

* Gold Cards cannot be used to enter the first division of the USA Nationals if the lifter is on a Team NASA Team. This requirement is for the first entry division entered only by Team NASA Lifters. Gold Cards MAY be used for the 2nd, etc, divisions entered in the USA Nationals by Official Team NASA Members! All regular USA National Lifters MAY use their Gold Card for any number of entries they choose in the USA Nationals.

* Must have been listed on our Top Lifter Lists in the past 2 years.

* Must have a history of traveling to meets outside of their home area.

* Must have a history of lifting in NASA National Events.

* Must NOT have lifted in ANY non-tested event, in any federation, in the past 2 years.

* Must have a good personality, good work ethic and must have a history of being coachable.

* Must have a history of NOT being injured from training.

* Team NASA members may also compete with their regular Teams at this meet as well as for their Official Team NASA Team.

We don't want to do this to early as a lot of people will not even be lifting when the meet takes place in June, 2013.

Lifters will be asked to apply. But the Coaching staff of each team may ask any lifter who is pre-qualified to apply. Once the deadline comes and goes we will have the Team Draft and the Head Coaches will flip a coin to see who chooses first and then the choices made by the Head Coaches. The Head Coaches and their staff will be responsible for researching the lifters on in the draft and making their decisions. I will give both staffs a simple example of how this is done.

Coaches need to remember that the meet will be conducted and will compete as Ultimate Teams, coefficient vs coefficient as we did in Vegas a few years ago. In other words, a 165 lb'er may actually be competing against a 308 lb'er, coefficient vs coefficient.

Each team may be allowed to select the following:

5- Equipped PL'ers
5- Unequipped PL'ers
5 Equipped BP'ers
5- Unequipped BP'ers
5- Equipped Push Pull Lifters
5- Unequipped Push Pull Lifters
5- Power Sports Lifters

7- Women Lifters, Total, 1 in each event.

A lifter may compete in more than 1 event as long as they have posted a Total in NASA and has been ranked in our Top Lifter Lists within the past 2 years in each of these events. Lifters have until Feb. 1st, 2013 to upgrade their coefficient. Lifters who lift in the Natural Nationals will have their Total Coefficient that weekend available for the draft.

The Team which has the highest Total Combined Total Coefficient for the meet will be declared the Team Champions.

NASA will also get a good price for Team Warm-ups, Red and Blue. Lifters will be responsible for their own warmups.

NASA will raise money which will be divided equally between the two teams. This money will be used for Team Meals, Gym Bags, drinks at the meet and misc supplies.
